20 September

Make Them Pay

On 20 September, we’ll be descending on Central London for a major demonstration to demand the government makes them pay. We want to create maximum pressure ahead of the Autumn budget, pushing the government to tax the vast wealth of the super-rich and rebuild society for the people who keep it running, not the rich and powerful.

Late Autumn – Autumn budget

Rachel Reeves will set out her Autumn budget in late October or November. The government must decide if it will continue balancing the books on the backs of the poorest in society, or begin taxing the vast wealth of the super-rich to help fix Britain’s broken economy. We know billionaires have Reeves’ ear, so we need to make as much noise as possible in September and October to make our demands heard.

10-21 November – COP30

In November, politicians and global movements will converge on Belém, Brazil, for the UN’s annual conference about climate change. The UK government will be there and the more pressure we can build through the Autumn, the less it will be able to ignore solutions that focus on taxing the wealth of the super-rich and polluting corporations to fight climate change.

15 November – Global day of action for climate justice

In the middle of COP, movements around the world will mobilise to demand an end to the climate crisis and economic injustice. Keep an eye out for more information about how you can join us for demonstrations in the UK!

We’ll be in London on 20 September to demand the government Makes Them Pay. Pledge to join us.
